Ashrafi lauds IRD role in promoting interfaith harmony

Special Representative to the Prime Minister on Interfaith Harmony Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi paid a visit to Iqbal International Institute for Research & Dialogue (IRD) and lauded the institute’s role in promoting peace and interfaith harmony.

Ashrafi held a meeting with Dr. Hassan ul-Amin, Executive Director of IRD and discussed issues of mutual interest and cooperation.

Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi appreciated the services rendered by IRD for the promotion of interfaith harmony and peace building in the country.

He said that IRD was playing a vital role in realization of Prime Minister’s vision of peace, interfaith harmony and tolerance.

The Institute was established as a global centre of excellence in Islamic Studies to encourage interdisciplinary approaches to the study of contemporary Islamic thought with particular emphasis on areas such as human rights, rule of law and pluralism.
