In a heart-wrenching development, the 9-year-old son of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Mian Ibad Farooq, who is currently under arrest, tragically passed away on Monday, succumbing to the immense grief caused by his father’s incarceration. Ibad Farooq’s brother revealed that their nephew, Ammar Ibad, had been battling mental illness, which had intensified following his father’s arrest.

Ammar had been suffering from this condition and frequently expressed his sorrow over his father’s situation. The funeral prayer for Ammar Ibad is scheduled to take place tonight at Munshi Hospital Lahore. It is worth noting that Ibad Farooq, a PTI ticket holder from PP 149, has been in custody in connection with the events of May 9th. Previously, even from behind bars, Ibad Farooq had provided encouragement and a message of reassurance to Ammar, urging him not to worry.

To recap the events of May 9th, violent clashes erupted across Pakistan following the arrest of the former prime minister and PTI chief at the Islamabad High Court. PTI party workers were deeply agitated by their leader’s detention, leading to protests in both remote and major cities.
