District Administration have finalised all arrangements to combat likely flood situation in the River Chenab and established 6 flood relief camps and 12 boating points for this purpose. This was stated in a handout issued here on Saturday. Officers of district administration visited flood relief camps established at Qadirabad Colony, Vanike Tarar, Khanpur, Jalalpur Bhattian, Tahli Goraya and Thathi Bahlolpur on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Hafizabad. According to handout, duties of Rescue 1122, Health Department, Livestock, Civil Defence and other concerned departments have been made at flood relief centres, already.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner told this scribe that water flow in the rive Chenab is normal still, however, all departments are ready to ensure rescue and relief work for the protection of life and property of the people in case of flood. He said that vaccination of livestock was also underway to save animals from water borne diseases.
Meanwhile President‘Awami Mahaz’ Hafizabad Rana Khalid Mehmoodhave demanded the Inspector General Police Punjab to establish three new police stations in the district Hafizabad for improving law and order situation in the district. He was addressing the meeting of Awami Mahaz Hafizabad, on Friday.
Rana Khalid Mehmood said that a case to accord approval was pending in development branch of Punjab police for long and IG Police Punjab be approved proposal of establishment of three new police stations in the district Hafizabad as well to sanction strength of Cops sanctioned according to the proportion of population which was increased significantly.
