Islamabad police booked Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shahbaz Gill under various sections for inciting rebellion, intrigue and tumult within the ranks of the army, sources said on Wednesday.
It had been learnt that all the soldiers and officers of the army were very sad and angry over the statements made by Shahbaz Gill. It had also been learnt that the top leadership of the army showed restraint once again and did not order any arrest under the Army Act.
It is to be noted here that under the Army Act, the minimum punishment for the crime is life imprisonment and the maximum punishment is death.
“Any such attempt by a political worker of any party in the future will be dealt with strictly. There will be no hesitation in invoking the Army Act in the future,” confirmed the sources.
