Some armed men desecrated the shrine of a saint, Pir Bahadur Shah Gilani, by removing his body from the grave in village Garh Fateh Shah of Tandlianwala on Thursday night.
Pir Sahib, who is a revered figure in the area and has thousands of followers, had died seven months ago.
Eyewitnesses said that Muhammad Ghaus, Qasim and Hassan along with their accomplices removed the saint’s body from his grave and took it with them because they wanted his burial in Okara, and not at Garh Fateh Shah.
Pir Sahib, on the other hand, in his will had advised his family to bury him in his village.
