Appointment of 6000 MOs, nurses lauded

Principal Postgraduate Medical Institute and Ameer Uddin Medical College (PGMI/AMC) Prof Dr Sardar Muhammad Alfareed Zafar has said that those who wear white coat are lucky and privileged as they chosen to serve the ailing humanity. He called upon the young students of MBBS to prepare themselves for the noble cause of medical profession and work round the clock to provide best assistance to the needy ones.
He was addressing the white coat ceremony held here at Ameer Uddin Medical College for MBBS students for session of 2019-2024. Faculty members, parents and students in a large number were present in the graceful function.
Prof Alfareed Zafar congratulated all the admission holders and expressed his best wishes for their success in future. He added that these 100 students have accepted a big challenge which would also help them in maintaining their life hereinafter and they can also earn good money in this world as well.
Principal PGMI/LGH/AMC lauded the appointments of 1000 medical officers and 5000 nurses by Punjab Government which was possible due to personal interest and efforts of Punjab Minister for Health Dr Yasmeen Rashid. He said that number of steps has been taken for the up-gradation of health sector in Punjab province and latest facilities have been provided in the public sectors hospitals.
Prof Alfareed Zafar said that in the recent years Ameer Uddin Medical College has established its name in the list of medical colleges and all its credit goes to the faculty members of this institution. He congratulated all the students and expressed hope they would also brighten the name of Ameer Uddin Medical College by their extra-ordinary performance in the medical field. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has also patronized the health sector by his personal interest and best possible staff is being provided through Punjab Public Service Commission.
He expressed hope that the standard of treatment in government hospitals would further be improved in the coming days. He also congratulated the parents of the students who are embraced by White Coat on the starting of MBBS classes. He said that profession of medical is a big responsibility owed on them by Allah Almighty and it is our collective obligation to achieve those targets.
At the end of the ceremony, Principal LGH while talking to the media said that the incumbent government has set its priorities by putting the health at the top.
