APNS body blasts centralized ad policy of Federal Govt

A meeting of the Federal Capital Committee of the APNS was held on Wednesday at Islamabad. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman Mr. Mohsin Bilal.
The members of the Federal Capital Committee unanimously adopted a resolution condemning the implementation of Centralized Advertising Policy of the Federal Government.
It was stated that the present system adopted by the PID will soon lead to disaster of newspaper industry. It will effect bankruptcy of print media houses and cause acute financial problems especially for medium and small sized publications.
The members requested the Prime Minister, Mr. Imran Khan to immediately suspend the implementation the Centralized Advertising Policy and advise the Ministry of Information for meaningful consultation with APNS and other stakeholders for revision of the Policy. The meeting was attended by the following. Mohsin Bilal, Chairman, Federal Capital Committee, Waseem Ahmed (Daily Awam, Quetta), GauharZahid Malik (D/Pakistan Observer), Syed Amjad Ali (D/Jang), Tahir Mughal (D/ Nawa-e-Pak), Ansar Bhatti (Monthly Centre Line) and Rukhsana Saulat Saleemi (Weekly Nikhar).—PR
