In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has castigated the Indian military approach to tackle the people’s uprising for their inalienable and legitimate right to self-determination guaranteed by the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the Kashmir dispute as purely a political issue, which needs its peaceful settlement under free and fair plebiscite under the UN auspices.

He said that the Indian fascist regime is well aware of its failures in suppressing the Kashmir freedom movement, and is, therefore, reluctant to accept the political solution, which exposes its Imperialistic approach in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Hailing the people’s tenacity, bravery and strong commitment, the spokesman said that more than one million occupation troops have utterly failed to deter the freedom loving people of Kashmir from their chosen path of freedom from Indian subjugation.

He paid rich tributes to the martyrs of freedom movement and said that more than half a million people have sacrificed their precious lives, tens of thousands migrated to Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, thousands have been illegally detained, tortured and subjected to enforced disappearance and women and children rendered widowed and orphaned while property worth billions of rupees has been vandalised.

The spokesman termed these sacrifices as “a debt on our conscience until we achieve complete freedom from Indian illegal military occupation.”

The APHC spokesman urged the United Nations Secretary General to stop widespread killings, illegal detentions and vandalising of residential buildings and business institutions, being used as a war strategy by India in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.—KMS
