ISLAMABAD – A nationwide anti-Polio vaccination campaign commenced, varying in duration across different regions on Monday (today).
The campaign targets children under the age of five, ensuring they receive the anti-Polio vaccine. Mobile health department teams will go door-to-door to ensure no child is missed.
In Punjab, the campaign launched in six districts and will run until the 9th of this month. The districts include Lahore, Okara, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, and Mianwali, where 6.4 million children will receive the vaccine.
Sindh began a seven-day special anti-Polio vaccination drive in twenty districts, including Karachi. Approximately 4.5 million children under five will be vaccinated during this period.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa started a five-day campaign across twenty-three districts today, aiming to vaccinate over 3.5 million children with anti-Polio drops.
In Balochistan, a seven-day campaign began in fourteen districts, targeting over 1.8 million children. Due to an expected heat wave, the campaign in Naseerabad, Sibi, Jaffarabad, Usta Muhammad, Dera Bugti, and Sohbatpur will commence on the 8th of this month.
