American Lycetuff Unique College Among 28 Sealed In Lahore

LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 28 illegal commercial buildings and premises that defaulted on commercialisation fees in LDA-controlled areas and various housing schemes on Wednesday.

LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 10 buildings in Gulshan-e-Ravi and Samanabad, 13 in New Garden Town and Model Town Extension, and five in the Government Superior Scheme during operations against illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.

The sealed premises include American Lycetuff, Unique College, Huda Foundation, Biryani & BBQ King, Sahiban Kasuri Fish, Al-Syed Biryani, grocery stores, private clinic, estate office, and other businesses.

LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams, assisted by the Police.

Meanwhile, LDA teams retrieved five commercial plots worth tens of millions during an operation in Rachna and Khyber Block of Allama Iqbal Town. LDA teams demolished illegal constructions on these plots, each measuring 10 marlas. LDA Director Housing III, Rafia Nazir, supervised the operation carried out by enforcement teams with the help of heavy machinery and the Police.

According to the LDA officials, several notices were served on the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.

LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against land grabbers, encroachments, illegal commercial buildings, and non-payment of commercialisation fees in housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas. He also directed taking measures to ensure the protection of public properties.
