American attorney Clive Stafford Smith has expressed deep concerns regarding the deteriorating health of Dr. Aafia, stating that she urgently requires medical assistance. In a recent interview, Smith described Dr. Siddiqui’s physical state as alarming, highlighting severe dental issues that have left her without teeth on one side. He noted that she is not permitted to wear dentures and has received no dental care for an extended period. Smith recounted a previous promise that Dr. Aafia would receive necessary medical treatment. After being subjected to a strip search for x-rays, she was left without further care for two years. When the issue was raised again, she refused to undergo another strip search. Attorney detailed Dr. Siddiqui’s significant health problems, including hearing loss in one ear and diminished hearing in the other, attributed to mistreatment at Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan and other locations.
