FIELD Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said that everyone should understand that Pakistan is invincible; we will not allow any harm to come to national sovereignty or regional integrity.
In a very firm manner, the Army Chief has issued a message regarding internal and external security, which simultaneously reflects the state’s resolve and also removes the ambiguity that is often deliberately created about Pakistan’s political and defence policies.
India’s years-long proxy activities, border provocations, and futile attempts to pressure Pakistan have given the region nothing but tension. In such circumstances, the Army Chief’s statement that India should not remain under any illusion, and that if it undertakes adventurism again, Pakistan’s response will be even more severe, carries immense significance.
Over the past 78 years, India has levelled countless fabricated and baseless accusations against Pakistan, the details of which are extremely lengthy. The recent collapse of the fabricated and baseless “Pahalgam surgical strike” narrative has become evident before the entire world like daylight.
The behaviour of the Taliban government is extremely disappointing. After returning to power, the Taliban initially promised peace and cooperation with Pakistan, but soon contradicted themselves by supporting terrorist groups, facilitating them, and violating diplomatic promises. Despite Pakistan’s unparalleled sacrifices and support for Afghanistan spanning decades, Pakistan has had to face betrayal, as the Taliban’s evasive policies have eroded trust. Pakistan’s unwavering and extensive support for the Afghan people is a matter of historical record, reflecting genuine goodwill, deep national sacrifice, and a profound sense of brotherhood. The list of Pakistan’s concrete and documented assistance to its neighbour is long, both in scope and duration.
India and Afghanistan have been causing problems for Pakistan from the very beginning. Despite these bitter realities, Pakistan tried to establish good relations with Afghanistan and maintain friendly ties with India as well, but adequate response from both sides was never received. When observing all these matters carefully, it becomes apparent that Pakistan is facing significant challenges because of Afghanistan and India.
India is trying to aggravate Pakistan. From Afghanistan, it uses the Pakistani Taliban to carry out sabotage inside Pakistan. These events make it clear that both Afghanistan and India do not understand the sensitivity of the situation. If the governments of Afghanistan and India accept ground realities, establishing peace in this region would not be difficult. The growing tension between two nuclear-armed countries is in no way beneficial. It has been stated repeatedly that war is not the solution to any problem; issues are resolved only through dialogue and diplomacy. The truth is that war is a symbol of destruction, devastation, and death. It carries not flowers of joy, but thorns of sorrow.
Wars are in no one’s interest. They do not solve problems; instead, they create more. Wars push nations backward, resulting in nothing but the loss of resources and human lives. India and Afghanistan must understand the message of the Field Marshal and must not destroy the peace of the region. This is a clear and serious warning.
Pakistan has repeatedly clarified that its war against terrorism is neither against any specific group nor is it interested in interfering in another country’s internal politics. But when organized terrorist attacks come from across the border, when Pakistan-enemy groups are given sanctuaries, and when extremist organizations use Afghan soil against Pakistan, then silence becomes neither possible nor appropriate.
