Ambassador Al Khater Hosts Grand Reception To Mark Qatars National Day

Qatar’s reconciliatory role, support in Pakistan’s economic uplift highly valuable: PM Shehbaz

 

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has paid rich tributes to the leadership of the State of Qatar for continuous support to Pakistan in not only meeting its economic challenges but also playing a key role in resolving regional conflicts.

The Prime Minister was addressing as Chief Guest the National Day reception hosted by Ambassador of Qatar in Pakistan, Ali Bin Mubarak Al-Khater at Serena Hotel on Tuesday. A cake was also cut on the occasion and the national anthems of Qatar and Pakistan were also played.

The reception was also attended by Chairman of the Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar AyazSadiq, Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, ambassadors of the Arab countries, members of the Diplomatic Corps, representatives of academia, business community and civil society.

Prime Minister extending felicitation to the people and the leadership of Qatar on the historic day that commemorates unification of different Qatari tribes into one state by the founder Emir Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani. Today, under the leadership of the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani the state of Qatar is taking long strides towards progress and prosperity. The prime minister also mentioned successfully organizing the FIFA World Cup in Qatar (Nov 20-Dec 18, 2022) that further stamped Qatar’s international leadership. He was all praise for the Qatari leadership saying Pakistan and Qatar enjoyed excellent relations in all fields and more than 150,000 Pakistanis are contributing to not only economic uplift of Qatar but also supporting their homeland through remittances.

Besides, the Qatari companies are also investing heavily in Pakistan’s energy, real state,defence, trade, investment, banking and health sectors to further enhance the economic cooperation and people-to-people relations. Qatar has always stood by Pakistan whenever the country faced challenges, economic or otherwise, said Prime Minister Sharif.

He particularly mentioned Qatar’s reconciliatory role in efforts to restore peace and end Israel’s belligerence in the occupied territory of Palestine. I must appreciate Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani for stepping in to the aid of the Palestinian people during the deadliest attacks by Israel and for uniting the Ummah and convincing the world powers to join hands for the resolution of the Palestine issue.

In times of Pakistan’s military escalation with India, too, Qatar played a key role in helped bring down the temperatures, Prime Minister recalled Emir Thani’s peace efforts. He reaffirmed the historical and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Qatar saying that both countries stand with each other. We enjoy excellent relations which are bound to grow stronger with passage of time. He also recalled the time when Qatar faced aggression from Israel and assured the people and the government of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with their Qatari brothers and sisters. Earlier in his address, Ambassador of Qatar, Ali Bin Mubarak Al-Khater expressed gratitude Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Senate Syed YousafRazaGilani, Speaker National Assembly SardarAyazSadiq, Information Minister AttaullahTarar, dignitaries, government officials and fellow diplomats for attending the National Day of the State of Qatar that commemorates the Foundation fo the State of Qatar by its founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani. Qatar and Pakistan enjoy strong fraternal relations and the people and the government of Qatar highly valued its relations with Pakistan, said the ambassador.

The year 2025 saw high level exchanges between the leadership of the two countries that demonstrate a strong bond of mutual trust and friendship between Qatar and Pakistan, said the ambassador. He also praised the Pakistani diaspora contributing in various fields. In the days to come the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Qatar will further strengthen, said the ambassador.
