The Malir City Police claimed to have arrested a Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L) worker allegedly involved in the murder of a former town nazim of Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr Parvez, and his driver.

According to the Malir City Police spokesperson, the arrest was made after the police received information about the MQM-L worker, Abdur Rehman, coming to meet one of his accomplices near Malir Halt. The spokesperson said the police seized a grenade and a detonator from Rehman.

He claimed Rehman had confessed to killing Dr Parvez and his driver, Khaleequallah, in 2012.
