LAHORE – A family dispute at Al-Rehman Garden Phase 2 quickly turned into assualt on an elderly man and now the case outrage online. It began as dispute brought to society office for mediation but things went south, leaving an elderly resident at the center of a confrontation that shocked onlookers.

Viral videos suggest that instead of de-escalating the situation, security personnel intervened aggressively. Guards allegedly used force against residents and attempted to detain them by escorting individuals into a vehicle. The situation became even more distressing as women and young girls present at the scene were seen visibly shaken, crying, and pleading for the confrontation to stop.
As the video spread rapidly online, it triggered widespread condemnation, with social media users questioning the conduct and legal authority of private security guards in handling civilian disputes, especially involving elderly citizens.
The growing backlash prompted swift action from authorities. Sheikhupura Police confirmed they were alerted promptly and reached the location. Following an initial assessment, officials stated that the conduct of the security guards was found to be inappropriate.
Management of Al-Rehman Garden Housing Society reportedly took action against security guards involved in the incident, a move widely seen as an attempt to contain public anger.
As per available information, the affected family later chose not to pursue additional legal proceedings after the action was taken.
Despite the administrative response, the incident continues to fuel debate over accountability, security protocols, and the limits of authority granted to private guards in residential communities.
