The Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) proudly hosted its annual High Achievers Ceremony themed “Roots of Hope” at the AKU Auditorium, celebrating the exceptional accomplishments of students from Punjab and Sindh.

This event follows a similar gathering in Gilgit-Baltistan, showcasing a collective sense of pride and achievement across Pakistan. During the ceremony, AKU President Dr. Sulaiman Shahabuddin acknowledged the pivotal roles played by school leaders, teachers, parents, and students in advancing the Board’s mission. “From the shores of Karachi to the northern peaks near the Afghan border, schools affiliated with AKU-EB are delivering an education of the highest quality—one that cultivates lifelong learners prepared for a rapidly changing world,” he stated, emphasizing the far-reaching impact of AKU-EB’s network in enhancing academic standards and promoting holistic education throughout the nation. Dr. Naveed Yousuf, CEO of AKU Examination Board, expressed his admiration for the high achievers and their families, reiterating AKU-EB’s commitment to developing students into resilient, critical thinkers and ethically grounded leaders. “Our goal is to empower students to not only excel academically but to think critically and act ethically in a complex world,” he affirmed. Dr. Yousuf highlighted that AKU-EB qualifications extend beyond academic success, equipping students with the resilience and purpose needed to make meaningful contributions to their communities and society at large.

This year, over 18,000 students across Pakistan participated in the AKU-EB examinations, with only 92 earning a coveted spot on the prestigious High Achievers List—60% of whom were female. This statistic reflects the Board’s dedication to providing equitable, high-quality education for all.

A notable moment of the ceremony featured Sadia Shafi, a national high achiever from Aga Khan Higher Secondary School in Hyderabad, who has already gained admission to the AKU Faculty of Arts and Sciences program. Sadia shared her inspiring journey, stating, “We proudly carry the identity of a system defined by trust, quality, credibility, and excellence.
