The Central leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Azad Kashmir and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan has said that February 27 is a very significant day in the history when Pakistan Air Force (PAF) foiled the attempts of Indian Air Force intrusion into Pakistan’s airspace from LoC in Kashmir.

Talking to several public delegations from AJK that called on him in Islamabad on Thursday, he said Kashmiris would celebrate February 27th as ‘Surprise Day’ to commemorate Pakistan Air Force’s ‘Operation Swift Retort’ against the Indian Air Force in 2019.

Mr. Khan informed that all necessary arrangements have been made to celebrate the day in a befitting manner to pay homage to the valiant armed forces rendering matchless sacrifices to safeguard the ideological and geographical frontiers of the country.

‘A series of programs including public rallies, processions and celebrations have been arranged throughout the state as elsewhere in the country to acknowledge the remarkable services of Pak Army, particularly PAF that assured the nation that they will stand guard against the enemies, and are fully equipped to eliminate all threats to Pakistan’s territorial sovereignty’, he added.

Following his call to celebrate 27th February as ‘Surprise Day’ in the liberated territory, preparations are in full-swing throughout the state and Mr. Khan, who himself hails from a family of Rawalakot would address ‘Daffa-e-Wattan’ central public gathering in hometown.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan who has a strong background and massive following in the region has been recently directed by Prime Minister Imran Khan to strengthen his party in the state.
