In a solemn and significant event on Saturday, Prime Minister Ch Anwar ul Haq, along with General Officer Commanding (GOC) Major General Muhammad Irfan and Chairman of the Kashmir World Forum, Haji Rafiq Pardesi, jointly unfurled the national flag at the newly constructed Kashmir Martyrs’ Memorial in Keran. This memo-rial, a symbol of the region’s resilience and sacrifice, was made possible through the dedicated ef-forts and support of the Kashmir World Forum.

Prime Minister Haq, in his speech, commended the Kashmir World Forum’s efforts, stating, “The tire-less work of organizations like the Kashmir World Forum is critical in ensuring that the sacrifices of our martyrs are not in vain. Their advocacy keeps the Kashmir cause alive in global forums.”

Haji Rafiq Pardesi, addressing the gathering, em-phasized the importance of the memorial in honor-ing those who laid down their lives for the cause of Kashmir. “The Kashmir Martyrs’ Memorial stands as a beacon of hope and a reminder of the countless sacrifices made by brave men and women for the freedom of Kashmir. It is our responsibility to en-sure their struggle is recognized and remembered worldwide,” said Pardesi.

The Kashmir World Forum, under the dynamic leadership of Haji Rafiq Pardesi, has been actively advocating for the rights of the Kashmiri people on international platforms. From organizing global conferences to lobbying for humanitarian aid and diplomatic support, the Forum has consistently worked to keep the Kashmir issue at the forefront of international discourse.

The ceremony was attended by several high-profile figures, including Azad Kashmir Information Minis-ter Maulana Pir Muhammad Mazhar Saeed Shah, Justice (Retd) Anwar Mansoor Khan, and a number of military officials, political leaders, and represen-tatives from civil society. The event also featured a ceremonial tribute as the Prime Minister, accompa-nied by Haji Rafiq Pardesi and Major General Irfan, laid a floral wreath at the memorial, with a contin-gent of the Pakistan Army presenting a salute.

Reflecting on the Kashmir World Forum’s mission, Haji Rafiq Pardesi remarked, “We will continue to be the voice of the oppressed Kashmiris. Our mis-sion is far from over, but through collective efforts and international solidarity, we will achieve justice for Kashmir.”

In addition to the inauguration, a special ceremony was held in connection with Defense Day, showcas-ing a military parade by a smartly turned-out con-tingent of the Pakistan Army. As part of his two-day visit to the region, Prime Minister Haq also planted a sapling at Kutan Jagran, symbolizing a commit-ment to both the environmental and national causes of the region.

The Kashmir Martyrs’ Memorial, built with the support of the Kashmir World Forum, serves as a testament to the sacrifices made by the people of Kashmir. It also highlights the Forum’s continued efforts to raise international awareness of the ongo-ing struggle for Kashmir’s freedom, with Haji Rafiq Pardesi playing a pivotal role in these global efforts.
