Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) has extended his legal opinion about North South Gas Pipeline Project rejecting categorically Ministry of petroleum stance about Russian companies.
Mala fide intent of ministry of petroleum has become fully exposed to the nation after the opinion of attorney general has come to fore.
There is a tale of backtracking and back-peddling by Ministry of petroleum authorities as the letter written by them to attorney general a few months back for awarding contract to Russian companies was withdrawn within one week.
The secretary petroleum has again written this letter to attorney general and in response to it, the AGP has sought legal opinion about Russian companies ETK and TMA in consultation and with the help of US and British companies.
Credible sources have told Online AGP office has categorically rejected ministry of petroleum stance in its legal opinion.
This development has stirred panic among officers of ministry of petroleum who are playing for their personal dividends and they are trading a plethora of charges against each other .
MD SGS Saulat Mubin is ring leader of corrupt elements of ministry of petroleum and this group includes several other top officers of ministry. This has unleashed loot and plunder spree in the name of gas projects. Russian company TMK was also part of in Russian structure about North South Gas pipeline project. The ministry of petroleum had declared this company ineligible and misfit for this project. The petroleum ministry authorities want to award contract on other Russian company ETK.
A powerful advisor of Prime Minister (PM) has also joined those who are out to award this contract to this company and he is using all persuasive tactics to win over favor of PM for his blue eyed company. .
Sources have told Online AGP office has maintained in its opinion that the objections raised by ministry of petroleum about Russian company TMK are unfounded and baseless and this company has potential to materialize this project.
AGP office has floated negative opinion about the other Russian company ETK and maintained in consultation with US and British company that ETK has neither capability nor any potential to complete this project because this company has no experience to accomplish such mammoth project.
Attorney General has said that there is no bar on TMK company and on the other hand there are restrictions on ETK, favorite company of ministry of petroleum while Russian company TMK is placed on watch list.
The ministry of petroleum had to face sheer humiliation due to Attorney General report and this corrupt mafia is endeavoring to avert to face Prime Minister Imran Khan.
When contacted petroleum advisor Nadim Babar, he took the stance in a brief written message that these all information are incorrect and ministry of petroleum spokesperson be contacted for more information.
When contacted, ministry of petroleum spokesperson kept mum over the matter. Even secretary petroleum avoided to give reply on this matter when he was contacted.—Online
