Ajmal Wazir, Syed Zulfiqar announce to quit PTI

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf got another blow to dealt with as former Provincial Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Hisham Inamullah, PTI leader Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, and KP CM spokesperson Ajmal Wazir announced to leave PTI on Saturday.
In three different press conferences, Dr. Hisham Inamullah, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah and Ajmal Wazir strongly condemned the May 9 events and announced to leave PTI.
Hisham Inamullah, in a press conference in Peshawar, announced to quit the party over what he termed the ugly May 9 incident.
“Those who harbour enmity towards the country cannot remain with me. There is no pressure on me to leave the party. My decision is based on my conscience. This country and its armed forces are mine, and I cannot compromise on them,” claimed the former Health Minister in Mehmood Khan led KP government in a news conference here Saturday. He said after attacks on the GHQ and Jinnah House, it would be a disgrace if he stays in the PTI.
Dr. Hisham Inamullah said that he could not remain part of that political organization which is showing enmity towards the country. He said he is very sad over the May 9 incidents.
Hisham said some elements within the PTI have damaged the dignity of Pakistan. “The burning of national heroes’ statues and the torching of Jinnah House is condemnable”. He said party chief Imran Khan and certain individuals within the party have clashed openly with the state and state institutions that was not advisable.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference, Ajmal Wazir, former spokesperson of the PTI-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday announced quitting the party and termed the party workers’ May 9 violence incident a dark day in the country’s history.
He lamented what was done with the sculpture of Colonel Sher Khan who sacrificed his life for Pakistan, during PTI’s protests on the arrest of Imran Khan.
He demanded to arrest all culprits involved in attacking the country’s institutions to refrain from such untoward incidents in future.
He said, ”I joined the PTI in July 2018 and was elected to the provincial assembly in August 2019 to serve the people.” After May 9 incident, he said that it was difficult for him to continue his association and affiliation with PTI.
“I am quitting the PTI because the country is supreme for me as compared to party politics,” he concluded.

According to a private news channel, as many as 25 lawmakers of the PTI from KP are ready to leave the party. Hundreds of village Nazims, former district members, tehsil members and ex-tehsil Nazims are ready to part ways with the PTI.
Sources said that over 11 former MNAs and 25 MPAs of the PTI have decided to leave the party. They will soon hold press conference and announce their decision in this regard. Sources said though these members haven’t disclosed yet what party they would join. But it seems that they would make a beeline to the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam.
