Pakistan has a lot of concerns due to climate change and it is very important to popularize modern agricultural technology.

Adopting an integrated strategy to popularize digital and precision agriculture in Pakistan is the need of the hour. By promoting modern agricultural technology and digital agriculture, Pakistan can not only be self-sufficient in agricultural production, but the dream of exporting agricultural products can also come true.

These views were expressed by Syed Hussain Jahania Gardezi, Minister for Agriculture, Punjab while addressing the ceremony held at a farm for the demonstration of precision agriculture technology in Dipalpur, district Okara.

He said that the transfer of precision agriculture technology will help to increase the domestic production and reduce the production cost of farmers.

The Punjab Government is making effort for this technology to bring under the reach of small farmers.

Provincial Minister Agriculture Punjab further said that Pir Meher Ali Shah Barani Agricultural University, Rawalpindi has established a Precision Agriculture Center with the aim of promoting digital and precision agriculture at national level and providing farmers with real-time information. It will create awareness about the needs of our crops.

Today it is a matter of great pleasure that this technology has reached at the doorstep of the farmers, he maintained.

The Provincial Minister further said that by promoting modern agricultural technology and digital agriculture, Pakistan will not only become self-sufficient in agricultural production, but the dream of increasing exporting agricultural products can also be true.
