District administration has absolutely failed to implement transport fare list and price list issued by the Secretary District Road Transport Authority and District Price Control Committee Hafizabad with the consultation of all stakeholders respectively.

Passengers and consumers told to this scribe that SRTA Hafizabad was issued new fair list after reduction in petroleum products for different routs but transporter mafia was not implementing the orders of the district administration to challenge the writ of openly. The passengers coming from SukhekiMandi to Hafizabad said that SRTA was fixed Rs. 130 per passenger but drivers and conductors of buses and wagons are extorting Rs.180 per passenger from Hafizabad to Sukheki Mandi as well as other routes.

When this scribe asked about this situation from Wagon Driver Asif Ali resident of Hafizabad who is running his Wolgan on Hafizabad-SukhekiMandi Rout, he told that we are using LPG to run wagons which is being sold on inflated price than petrol so we could not afford reduction in fare. The people also said that no relief is providing by the shopkeepers and extorting arbitrary prices of edibles and other daily use items.

The citizens demanded the Deputy Commissioner Hafizabad Sundas Irshad and Chief Minister of the Punjab to take affective measures against proffers, hoarders and transport mafia for ensuring provision of some relief to the people as well as to get remove substandard LPG cylinders being use in the wagons to save precious lives of passengers a well as maintain writ of the government being challenged by profiteers and transporters.
