LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 142 illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulter premises in Lahore’s different areas on Tuesday.
LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 18 buildings in Gulberg, 57 in Johar Town, 39 in Allama Iqbal town, and 28 in Shadman, Gulshan-e-Ravi and Canal Bank Road’s surroundings for illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
The sealed premises include Ace Academy, Lahore Castle, Sheesh Mahal, Hotel Dream View, Hotel Royal Galaxy, Furniture Galleria, Hafeez Health Care, Ideal Dental Surgery, Naulakha, private schools, grocery stores, food outlets, offices and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali supervised the operations, which were carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police.
According to the LDA officials, several notices were served to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulters across Lahore.
