The Inspector General of Police (IGP) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Naeem Khan was Wednesday replaced by Sanaullah Abbasi as the new chief of the KP Police.
The federal government Wednesday issued the notification of Sanaullah Abbasi as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province after approval from Prime Minister Imran Khan. The change of Principal Police Office of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was affected in less than a year as Dr. Naeem was appointed as IG KP in February 2019.
While reports of federal government deciding to replace IGP Khyber were circulating, official sources said the decision was taken after Prime Minister Khan had expressed “dissatisfaction” with the performance of Dr. Naeem. The new IG KP Police Abbasi is currently serving as the Gilgit Baltistan police chief. He had also headed Counter Terrorism Department of Sindh Police.
