A City PS to be designated to end expats woes: IGP

Overseas Pakistanis play an important role in the economic development of the country and the solution to the problems facing them is the top priority of the government and the Punjab Police. IG Punjab.

Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani on Wednesday said that Pakistani citizens living abroad are the most valuable assets to the nation and country.

“Overseas Pakistanis have not only curved out a prominent place in other countries through their hard work and ability but also playing a significant role in economic development of their motherland through their remittances.”

IG Police Inam Ghani expressed the views during a meeting with a three-member delegation of the Punjab Overseas Pakistan Commission (OPC) led by its Vice Chairman Wasim Akhtar at Central Police Office here on Wednesday.

The IGP reiterated the government stand that protection of life, property and wealth of Overseas Pakistanis is the top priority of the Punjab Police and all possible measures will be taken in this regard.

He said that a police station would be designated in Lahore as a pilot project to expedite the process of resolving the problems of Overseas Pakistanis with the objective of addressing their grievances on a fast-track manner.

He said that after the success of the pilot project in Lahore, this model would be expanded to other major cities of the province to benefit the overseas Pakistanis.

During the meeting the OPC vice chairman informed the IG about the problems faced by overseas Pakistanis.

The delegation included OPC Punjab Commissioner Syed Khadim Abbas and Director (Police matters) Imtiaz Ahmad.
