The Punjab government on Wednesday has asked to deploy the Pakistan Army and Rangers to maintain law and order during Muharram-ul-haram, in the province.
According to the details, in order to maintain peace and order in Muharram, the Punjab government will seek help of 43 Rangers companies across the province. The report sent to the Chief Minister said that 36,138 mourning ceremonies would be held across the province while 9,118 mourning processions to be held. Police have divided rallies and processions across the province into security categories.
