Inspector General of Police Punjab captain retired Arif Nawaz Khan said that recommendations of HRCP regarding protection of minor children’s right who are arrested by police should be implemented.
IGP said that Punjab Police will fully cooperate with Human rights commission of Pakistan in all matters of police. He further said that directions defined in juvenile justice act 2018 regarding cases of children involved in criminal activities should be ensured whereas police will see the matters of children of prisoners in accordance with the parameters of human sympathy and legal ways. These views were expressed by him during a meeting with four members delegation of human rights commission of Pakistan. In the delegation, council members of HRCP Nazish Atta Ullah, Nadeem Anthony, Asad Jamal and Manager Tahira Habeeb were present. During the meeting, issues of families especially children of prisoners along with mutual interests were discussed.
In order to make better coordination and working of Punjab Police with Human Rights commission of Pakistan, a focal person from Punjab police has been nominated so that matters should be resolved quickly with the help of close coordination.
