A three-day international Urdu Conference with the name ‘’Urdu Maazi, Haal Aur Mustaqbil’’ (Urdu—Past, Present & Future) is beginning today (Wednesday, Aug 12) at 10 am – Urdu Auditorium, National Language Promotion Department Islamabad.
Federal Minister for Education & National Heritage and Culture Division Shafaqat Mehmood will inaugurate the event as Chief Guest whereas Urdu intellectuals including Prof Fateh Muhammad Malik, Iftikhar Arif, Kishwar Naheed, Justice Nasira Javed Iqbal, Raza Ali Abidi, Dr Amna Yaqeen (UK), Prof Arif Naqvi (Germany), Humaira Rehman (America), Noshi Gillani (Australia), Ashfaq Hussain (Canada), Thang Mung Ching (China), Dr. Ibrahim Muhammad Ibrahim (Egypt), Dr. Ali Biat (Iran) and Dr. Ausman Bailen (Turkey) will be the keynote speakers. Important Personalities will preside the closing ceremony.
There will be three sessions daily speaking on the occasion, Dr Rashid Hameed, Director General National Language Promotion Department, Islamabad, said that internationally renowned scholars will attend the conference and researchers, teachers, scholars and intellectuals will present papers on many important topics.
He said on 14th August, at Pakistan Independence Day an International Urdu Mushaira will be organized where eminent poets will recite their poetries. In this three day International Urdu Conference, speakers will also express their views on important topic related to Literature, Education, Arts and different fields of life.
