It is unfair to impose extra burden of electricity per unit on the citizens of Karachi, Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Sheikh said on Tuesday He said the federal government should take notice of the increase of Rs 65 paisa per unit on 300 to 700 units of electricity users. “Despite poor performance and severe load shedding the burden of electricity bills city customers is deplorable.” Imtiaz Sheikh said the mysterious silence of the federation on the injustice of K Electric is a question mark, adding citizens are being given extra bills instead of electricity. He said the Sindh government protests with the federal government over the injustice done to its citizens. An increase of Rs. 65 per unit on Karachi consumers should be withdrawn immediately. He said thehe federation should fulfill its responsibilities for uninterrupted and affordable power supply to Karachi.
