District Food Authority sealed an ice cream distributing unit, seized stock of poor quality ice cream and arrested an accused here on Saturday. On directions of Director Food Muhammad Zubair, a team of Food Department headed by Assistant Food Controller Shaukat Sultan raided an ice cream distributing unit at Ayub Road Mansehra.
During operation, a huge stock of poor quality ice cream was seized and samples were sent for laboratory test. The raiding team sealed the unit and also arrested accused Tariq Usman s/o Abdul Jabbar, hailing from Pakpattan who used to sell the substandard ice creams in different areas of Mansehra city through vending carts.
Director Food took the action over serious diseases among the children who purchased and used the ice cream from the vending carts supplying the ice cream of the said stock.—INP
