The Search and Sweep Operations (SSOs) play a key role in maintaining law and order in the city and foiling nefarious designs of the enemy of the motherland.
“There is a dire need to remain highly alert in the wake of present situation on borders,” emphasized Lahore DIG (Operations) Ashfaq Khan on Thursday.
Ashfaq Khan further said that Lahore Police conduct search and sweep operations on regular basis in different areas of the city in consultation and coordination with security agencies and other departments concerned.
Lahore Police Operations Wing has issued the performance report regarding SSOs conducted under National Action Plan to maintain peace and law and order situation in the city. According to the report, Lahore Police conducted 446 search operations during the month of July at different places to maintain law and order in the city, where as 42926 persons, 11379 houses, 4543 tenants, 152 hotels, 36 guest houses, 45 hostels, 01 educational institutions, 30 bus stands, 33 factories, 313 shops, 25 madaris and 23 churches were checked. Police took action against 457 accused persons, registering 14 FIRs in narcotics, 04 in illegal weapon, 194 in Tenant Acts, 239 accused were arrested in other crimes as well as 05 Proclaimed Offender was also arrested.
