City Mayor Waseem Akhtar and Mayor of HyderabadTayyabHussaincalled on Governor Sindh Imran Ismail at the Governor House on Monday and apprised him about the situation arising out of recent rains. WaseemAkhtar said rain disasters are difficult to deal with due to lack of funds, while Hyderabad Mayor was of the view that there are piles of garbage in different parts of the city and Hyderabad Metropolitan Municipality is in dire need of funds. He said various schemes have been stalled due to scarcity of funds, adding it has also become difficult to deal with the situation created by the rains. Whereas, the Governor Sindhtold the visitors that the federal government was well aware of the situation in the province and assured them that, “We will not leave Sindh’s urban areas alone. The federal government is also looking at the situation in Hyderabad, Imran Ismail to the Mayorsand said that he would talks with PM Imran Khan to work out comprehensive strategy for forthcoming rains and for development funds.
