With the beginning of countdown to Eid-ul-Azha, as many as 263 madrisas and welfare organisations have submitted applications to the district administration.
Through applications, these organisations, have sought no objection certificate (NoC) to collect hides of sacrificial animals on EidulAzha. The government has restrained 48 banned outfits from collecting hides of sacrificial animals. The government has warned that those found collecting skins without valid NoC will be booked under 11b Schedule of Terrorism Act 1997.
The Punjab Home Department has sent a circular to the administration of all districts to monitor the banned outfits and ensure implementation on the ban.
The Lahore district administration has said that a decision on all the 263 applications will be taken after a meeting of the District Intelligence Committee. A spokesperson for the administration explained that as many as 48 organisations have banned from collection of sacrificial animals’ hides on Eid-ul-Azha. He, however, said that no such organization has submitted application for NoC. He warned that violators will be dealt with sternly.
