Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, while presiding over two separate meetings, approved the establishment of two Special Economic Zones in the private and public sectors and handed over its possession for the formal launch of Dhabeji Special Economic Zone near Karachi. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Shah, Chairman P&D Muhammad Waseem, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sindh Sajid Jamal Abro, Additional Chief Secretary Home Usman Chachar, Secretary Investment Najam Shah, Secretary Finance Hassan Naqvi, Secretary Agriculture Rahim Soomro, Secretary Works Imran. Ata Soomro, CEO SEZMC Abdul Azeem Aqeeli and others. The chief minister, while presiding over the third board meeting of the Special Economic Zones Authority of Sindh (SEZA), approved two petitions under which two special economic zones would be set up, including: Services of Special Economic Zones: Services Industries Limited. Assisted in setting up a mega production facility for the manufacture of tires to meet the growth and demand of the domestic market as well as export to other countries. The project is estimated to cost 250 250 million and has an annual production capacity of 2.4 million tires. The site will be set up on 50 acres of land in Nooriabad. Under this project, 85% of its production will be exported to other countries of the world. Chief Minister Sindh approved the request for establishment of Service Special Economic Zone. The Chief Minister Sindh was also apprised of the status of SEZ for Noushero Feroz Industrial Park: An industrial park based mainly on agro food is being developed in Noushero Feroz District. Presiding over another meeting of Dhabeji Special Economic Zone (DSEZ), the Sindh Chief Minister directed the Board of Revenue (BOR) to hand over the possession of 1535 acres of land to DSEZ so that this zone Further development process can be started. The Sindh government has allotted 1530 acres of land to be developed as Dhabeji Special Economic Zone (DSEZ) in Thatta near Karachi. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a priority project, will facilitate potential investors from China and other countries to either start new businesses or relocate their facilities to Pakistan. DSEZ is being developed under a public-private partnership with an investment of over 50 50 billion. The project will create more than 50,000 jobs for skilled and unskilled youth. The Sindh Chief Minister approved the expansion of 1500 acres in future and directed the concerned authorities to expedite the work of water supply, infrastructure and external network. Numerous tenders have been received from potential developers for the development of Dhabeji Special Economic Zone and it is currently under scrutiny. The Sindh Chief Minister directed the Board of Revenue to immediately allot land to NDTC and construct a grid at the threshold of the zone. It is pertinent to mention here that the Federal Government has sanctioned Rs. 3.94 billion for the construction of a dedicated grid for this C-Pack SEZ.
