General Secretary, Pakistan National Heart Association (PANAH) Sanaullah Ghuman said that the effects of E-cigarettes on the human body are more dangerous than smoking; therefore, we demand the government to impose a complete ban on the use of e-cigarettes.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Sanaullah Ghuman said that the use of E-cigarettes causes various diseases in the human body, including heart, respiratory, cancer, lung and kidney diseases, despite the opinion of all medical experts and modern research coming to light.
According to Wikipedia, the number of vaping or E-cigarette smokers around the world continues to rise over time, from 7 million in 2011 to 41 million in 2018. The nicotine in e-cigarettes is causing heart disease, the chemicals used in it destroy white blood cells, the use of e-cigarettes affects DNA, pregnancy and human cells as well as cancer, respiratory disease, neurological impairment. However, the use of E-cigarettes in the younger generation is a matter of concern for parents, According to a February 24, 2020 report by the Global Center for Forgiveness in Tobacco Control, the sale of E-cigarettes is banned in 41 countries, but Pakistan is among the 66 countries where e-cigarettes are allowed to be sold., while our economic conditions do not allow us to waste our exchange on diseases and harmful substances, the government has to be serious.
Sanaullah Ghuman said that we appeal to Prime Minister Imran Khan to secure the future of the young generation by banning e-cigarettes. The use of e-cigarettes will not only disprove the health but also the sick society, which will degrade the country instead of developing it, he added.
