A polio campaign worker was kidnapped and physical tortured by unknown gun men in the remote area of Landiktoal, (BZK) Bazar Zakha Khel, a backward and mountainous area of district Khyber bordering Afghanistan the other day.
According to reliable sources, Faisal, the polio eradication campaign supervisor in Bazar Zakha Khel area was sitting at a shop in Konjono area when some unknown gunmen covered their faces shifted him to an unknown area in their vehicle. The well-known sources said that he was badly beaten by the armed persons that he become unconscious. The sources said that gunmen also snatched his cash money and a precious smart phone.
The sources and persons pleading anonymity told media that Faisal was in the custody of those persons for five hours and was released at 9:00 o’clock during night time. An official at Landikotal administration has confirmed the incident but said that the affected polio worker had not been submitted any report at our office. The sources said that the gunmen were silent and never demanded anything from the polio worker nor they told him why they have kidnapped and tortured him.
