Roads uplift to help benefit 1 million population: DC

The Commissioner Gujranwala Division, Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah has visited district Hafizabad on Saturday. He inspected three roads Pindi Bhattian-Kot Nakka Road, Jalalpur Bhattian-Marth Road and Sandhwan Tarar-Ballo Nou Road completed recently with the cost of Rs.260 million under Naya Pakistan-Manzilian Asan Programme and reviewed standard of material used in execution of the projects
While talking to villagers during the roads inspection, he said that with the completion of new roads, better communicational facilities were available to one million population of the rural areas of the district Hafizabad. During the visit of newly constructed Land Record Centre Jalalpur Bhattian at a cost of Rs.5.5 million, He said that it was a big facility for the people of the area at local level and now not only people of the Jalalpur Bhattian would get rid of traveling to Pindi Bhattian and Hafizabad for getting computerized documents and mutation of their property but precious time and expenditure would also be saved significantly.
Later, the Commissioner was visited flood protective band at the river Chenab and directed the officers of Irrigation Department to complete construction, repairing and other necessary work immediately and strengthening the bund to use crush, sand and other material there necessary. He visited flood relief centre established at Tahlli Gorayya and inspected different stalls setup by the Rescue 1122, Civil Defense, Livestock and Health Departments.
The commissioner directed the officers of Health Departments to ensure availability of sufficient stock of medicines to meet any emergency situation. He also directed the officers of Livestock Department to arrange fodder, medicines and ensure vaccination of cattle to save them from waterborne diseases in case of flood in the river Chenab.
