PPP Senator Sassui Palijo has said that attempts are being made to impose one unit in order to destroy the original identity of the provinces which have a history of thousands of years, especially Sindh province. In her message on Provincial Autonomy Day. She added that proud and conscious people of Sindh, writers, intellectuals, political and social, students put up great resistance against it. The Senator said, “I am glad that my mother and my whole family protested against tyranny and were sent to jails.” She said that when the PPP got the government, it brought the 18th amendment and reforms package and gave all the provinces their rights. The PTI must understand that at least the rights granted under the Constitution, whether it is the NFC award, IRSA, CCI or consultation with the provinces, are imperative for the country, but the Niazi government has failed in all of them. “Tehreek-e-Insaf has failed miserably, especially in attacking provincial autonomy.” Imran Khan and his team are not ready to give constitutional rights to the provinces, they want to enforce their decisions, Palijo said, adding PPP will continue its struggle, whether it is in Parliament on roads or in other forums. She stressed that the strength of the federation will be when the provinces are strong and said that “Today is a very important and big day. On this day, we salute the students, intellectuals, writers and political leaders who struggled.”
