The Special Investigation Unit arrested a man who is believed to have murdered over 100 people, including police officers, during an operation in Karachi Saturday night.
The suspect, identified as Shakeel, was arrested from Orangi Town. According to SSP Syed Irfan Ali Bahadur, the suspect was the head of the MQM’s death squad.
“Shakeel also murdered Qatar Hospital’s Medico Legal Officer Dr Irfan and Pirabad police station’s sub-inspector Aleem Shah,” Bahadur said, adding that all these crimes were conducted on orders from the party heads.
Shakeel’s accomplices include Ajmal Pahari, Saeed Bharam and Danish. The team of killers comprised of 32 men, the SSP added.
Meanwhile, The MQM-L target killer confessed that he had killed Sub Inspector Aleem Shah and a police constable Rana Sohail in 2011, Qatar Hospital’s MLO Dr Muhammad Irfan, dozens of ANP workers and leaders.
Earlier on June 20, alleged target killers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement London (MQM-L) had arrested in a raid by Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD). The accused Mudassir Ameer and Minhaj Shahid had been taken under custody along with another from the Pirabad area of the metropolis.
Sindh Rangers in a joint operation with Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) had apprehended two most-wanted terrorists of a banned outfit organization in Karachi.
According to Rangers’ spokesman, acting on intelligence reports, the Rangers and CTD personnel conducted a targeted operation and arrested two most wanted terrorists, Samiullah alias Arshad and Muhammad Jaffar alias Barkat alias Iftikhar.
The Rangers spokesman further said that the arrested terrorists were involved in attacks on Pakistan Army, Navy, Rangers and police.
These terrorists were also involved in sectarian violence. They carried out terror activities with support from other criminals, Abdullah Danish, Naeem alias Master, Asim Kapri, Ishaq Bobby, Attaur Rahman alias Naeem Bukhari and Sabir, the rangers’ official added.
He had said mastermind Attaur Rahman alias Naeem Bukhari and Sabi had already been arrested by the law enforcers in Karachi.
