Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) remained alert prior and during the rain in the city as per standard operating procedures.
On the directives of Managing Director Muhammad Aslam Rao, the LWMC remained alert to rain and made all necessary arrangements to cope with the situation. During the rain in the city all operational staff of LWMC was in field specifically to their designated choking points following the directions from Managing Director of ensuring proper disposal of rain water. GM Operations Sohail Malik also visited multiple areas of the city to monitor effective cleanliness operation execution. GM Ops LWMC stated that in the light of MD LWMC direction, department is working tirelessly to provide clean environment to the citizens of the city.
MD LWMC said that department and its Turk contractors are using all resources on daily basis in the field for timely waste lifting from every nook and corner of the city which is also the top priority of the department. Spokesperson LWMC Jamil Khawar said that we repeatedly appeal to the citizens for not disposing of their waste improperly in open plots, drains, canal, roads etc. but to use bins for their proper disposal, whereas department has its helpline 1139 to serve the citizens on which people can call and complaint regarding waste and can also use mobile based application Clean Lahore.
