Ex-Director Programmes Radio Pakistan Nayyer Mahmood passes away

Former Director Programs Radio Pakistan Mrs. Nayyer Mahmood passed away at the age of 72 years here on Saturday.
The deceased was spouse of former Secretary Information Syed Anwar Mahmood.
Mrs. Nayyer Mahmood rendered nearly thirty-four years of journalistic and broadcasting services and retired from Radio Pakistan in 2008.
She worked hard for launching the digitization project of the sound archives of Radio Pakistan to preserve millions of hours of songs, music and other valuable recordings covering the period of almost six decades.
She joined Radio Pakistan as Programme Producer in 1974 and served in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Karachi and Islamabad centres on various positions in World Service, External Service and Home Service of Radio Pakistan.
The funeral prayer of Mrs. Nayyer Mahmood was offered at H-8 Graveyard, Islamabad.
