Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan fall 21.87pc

Pakistan’s exports of goods and services to Afghanistan witnessed decrease of 21.87 percent during the first ten months of financial year (2019-20) compared to the corresponding period of last year, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported.
The overall exports to Afghanistan were recorded at $808.644 million during July-April (2019-20) against exports of $985.572 million during July-April (2018-19), showing negative growth of 21.87 percent, SBP data revealed. Overall Pakistan’s exports to other countries witnessed decrease of 2.40 percent in ten months, from $20.134 billion to $19.649 billion, the SBP data revealed.
On the other hand, the imports from Afghanistan into the country during the period were recorded at $115.747 million against $149.322 million last year, showing decreased of 22.48 percent in first ten months of this year. The overall imports into the country decreased by 16.93 percent, from $43.447 billion to $36.090 billion, according to the data. The surplus during the period under review was recorded at $693 million against $836.250 million during same period of last year, showing negative growth of 17.13%, the data revealed.
