Police have arrested almost 25 secret water hydrants operators and sealed the illegal water hydrants in various areas of Karachi.
According to details, the action was taken on the information from the officials of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB). Cases were registered against the accused persons in Bin Qasim and Steel Town police stations.
The detained persons were involved in operating secret water hydrants and were also providing illegal water connections to the citizens in various areas of Karachi.
Managing Director of KWSB, Asadullah Khan, has urged the IG Sindh Police to take stern action against those selling water illegally in Karachi.
In his letter to IG Sindh, he informed that some people of various districts of Balochistan and Thatta are involved in selling unhealthy and chemically mixed water.
On the other hand, on the instructions of Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, various teams of Water Board officers were formed and were directed to take actions against tankers filled with unhygienic water.
