Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) SE (Northern) Amir Yaseen, on the directions of LESCO Chief Mujahid Pervez Chattha, continued search operations against power pilferers.
According to the SE, the field staff and divisional task force conducted search operations in Sanda, Gulshan Ravi, Nawan Kot, Chauburji Park, Faisal Park, Shahdara, Jia Musa, Karim Park, Begum Kot, Bilal Gunj, Sheranwala, Bhatti Gate, Shah Alam Market, Shad Bagh and Kot Abdul Malik areas.
The staff checked 1701 connection and spotted 44 connections with irregularities including 32 maters stealing electricity directly from main transmission lines, 2 display wash, 1 display open, 1 meter shunt, 1 bogus and 7 with different cases.
The team disconnected the meters besides charging 87,799 units in detection bills. The company had also got registered cases against the power stealers with respective police stations.
LESCO spokesman said that the LESCO surveillance teams on the directives of Chief Executive Officer Mujahid Pervez had started an active drive against power stealers.
In addition, he said that LESCO also focused on charging detection bills to electricity pilferers and recovery of dues from the dead defaulters of the company.
