US President Donald Trump has held a telephone conversation with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to discuss the latest regional developments.
According to Qatari authorities, the two leaders spoke on Friday and exchanged views on the evolving situation in the region.
The state-run Qatar News Agency reported that the discussion focused on ongoing diplomatic efforts at the international level, particularly Qatar’s mediation initiatives aimed at bridging differences between conflicting parties and advancing the negotiation process.
During the conversation, the Qatari emir stressed the importance of sustaining dialogue and using diplomacy as an effective means of resolving conflicts.
He said these efforts were essential to preventing further escalation of tensions in the region, safeguarding freedom of navigation through international waterways and ensuring the security of energy supplies.
