ISLAMABAD – Some more relief for inflation-weary Pakistanis as petrol prices are expected to fall by up to Rs10 per litre amid daily petroleum price adjustments.
Reports suggest that the revision could bring price of petrol down from Rs362 to Rs352 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) may become cheaper by Rs5.56, settling at Rs382.25 per litre.
The expected reductions come as authorities introduce a more frequent pricing mechanism, replacing longer intervals between revisions with daily adjustments aimed at responding more closely to changing petroleum market conditions.
Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is expected to finalise revised petroleum rates tonight while the final prices will be confirmed through an official government notification.
Rs17 Price Cut in 2 Days
The expected relief follows series of recent reductions in domestic petroleum prices. On November 5, the government lowered petrol prices by Rs7.06 per litre, bringing the rate to Rs362. High-speed diesel also became cheaper by Rs3.71, settling at Rs387.81 per litre.

However, the following day brought a major correction, bringing the price down to Rs378.41. Another increase pushed petrol to Rs414.78 on May 9, but subsequent adjustments reduced the rate to Rs299.50 by June 20.
Prices later climbed again, reaching Rs336.15 on July 31 and Rs342.02 on August 29. By September 30, petrol had risen to Rs387.54 per litre, followed by a further increase to Rs398.96 on October 9. International Oil Markets Rebound Despite Political Uncertainty
While Pakistan prepares for another possible fuel price reduction, global crude markets moved higher on Thursday as geopolitical concerns continued to influence investor sentiment.
International oil traders remained focused on developments surrounding the US-Israeli conflict with Iran, particularly after President Donald Trump’s Republican Party suffered major setbacks in the American midterm elections. Brent crude futures rose by $2.19, representing a 2.3% increase, to reach $96.81 per barrel at approximately 12:55 GMT. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude also strengthened, gaining $1.32, or 1.5%, to trade at $89.44 per barrel.
