KARACHI – The gold prices in Pakistan recorded a sharp increase as per-tola rate rising by Rs13,900 to reach Rs426,036, All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association said on Wednesday.
The latest increase has pushed gold prices significantly higher in the local market, reflecting an upward trend in international bullion rates.
According to the association, the price of 10 grams of gold also increased by Rs11,917, taking the new rate to Rs365,257.
Meanwhile, gold prices in the international market also witnessed a substantial rise. The price of gold increased by $139 per ounce to reach $4,035.
The increase in international gold prices has contributed to the latest surge in domestic rates, affecting consumers, jewellery buyers and investors across Pakistan. Gold prices in the local market generally fluctuate in line with international bullion rates and changes in currency exchange values.
