ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has announced the closure of the road connecting Rawal Dam Chowk to Serena Hotel, effective November 3, 2026, until further notice, due to ongoing construction work on the Kashmir Chowk underpass.
According to the traffic diversion plan issued by the ITP, the road from Kashmir Chowk towards Rawal Dam Chowk and Faizabad will remain open, and traffic will continue to flow as usual on this route.
Alternative Routes for Commuters
To facilitate motorists and maintain traffic flow, Islamabad Traffic Police has advised commuters to follow alternative routes during the closure.
Those travelling from Aabpara towards Rawal Dam Chowk and Park Road have been advised to use Garden Avenue and Shakarparian Road.
Meanwhile, commuters travelling from Park Road and Faizabad towards Aabpara and Bhara Kahu should take Garden Avenue, Seventh Avenue and Srinagar Highway.
Citizens Advised to Leave Early
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) has urged citizens to plan their journeys accordingly and leave their homes 20 to 25 minutes earlier than their usual departure time.
Traffic personnel will remain deployed on roads to guide commuters and assist them in following the designated diversion routes.
The ITP will also provide further traffic updates through its FM 92.4 radio channel and Islamabad Police’s official social media pages.
