Makkah pact countries’ top officials to hold talks with Iran to discuss regional situation

Makkah Pact Countries Top Officials To Hold Talks With Iran To Discuss Regional Situation

Senior officials from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkiye are scheduled to meet Iranian representatives in Tehran on October 26, 2026, to discuss regional security and coordination amid rising tensions across the region.

The meeting will provide an important opportunity for direct, high-level engagement between Iran and the three countries that are members of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, according to international media.

Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman will represent Riyadh, while Pakistan’s Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is expected to attend. Turkiye is likely to be represented by its intelligence chief.

The meeting comes as regional tensions continue to grow, making dialogue and security cooperation a key concern for the participating countries.

Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkiye signed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement in August 2026. Under the pact, an armed attack against any one member is treated as an attack against all three. The agreement also commits the countries to taking necessary measures to protect one another’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Earlier in October, senior defence officials from the three countries held an emergency meeting in Riyadh. During the discussions, they agreed on arrangements to accelerate the deployment of military capabilities and defence resources in Saudi Arabia.

The planned Tehran meeting marks a significant diplomatic engagement between Iran and the three defence pact members amid the ongoing regional uncertainty.
