District administration imposed Rs9.274m fine on profiteers in May: DC

Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Capt (Retd) Anwar-ul-Haq has said that while taking action against illegal profiteers in Rawalpindi district in the month of May, fine of 9.274 million rupees was imposed, and cases were registered against 106 illegal profiteers and 138 others were arrested.
Capt (Retd) Anwar-ul-Haq expressed these views while presiding over a meeting here on Monday to review the actions taken against illegal profiteers. He said that no concessions would be made to illegal profiteers and hoarders, and steps would be taken in this regard under a comprehensive strategy.
The Deputy Commissioner said that supply of quality and affordable food items to the citizens is the top priority and the shopkeepers who are profiting more than the fixed prices of food items will be dealt with severely. Capt (Retd) Anwar-ul-Haq said that the price magistrates in Rawalpindi district imposed a total fine of Rs 86,000 while taking action against illegal profiteers on Sunday.
